I love a good drugstore haul. I always get sucked in to the 3 for 2 offers in Boots, and I treat myself to a skincare serum from Chanel - the Hydra Beauty Micro Serum which is just so delicious for your face. I first wore this serum underneath loreal's BB magique cream and received 5 compliments on my makeup and skincare from makeup artists working in the stores during my shopping trip. This was before I bought the serum because I was contemplating buying it (the price was holding me back at...£66) but after receiving the lovely compliments, I convinced myself it was the serum and I had to buy it.
Chanel Hydra Beauty Mirco Serum
On the website, it is described as:
With HYDRA BEAUTY Micro Sérum, CHANEL reinvents hydration. The first serum composed of camellia micro-droplets is based on an exclusive patented technology derived from Microfluidics. This revolutionary technology makes it possible to create a formula containing droplets of active ingredients whose purity remains intact until the moment of application. In perfect affinity with the skin, these micro-droplets fuse with the skin, releasing their precious camellia extract for continuous hydration and an intense plumping effect. The unprecedented texture of HYDRA BEAUTY Micro Sérum offers a completely new sensory experience.
I spoke to few of the makeup specialists and they told me it was suitable for all skin types, and because of it's hydrating properties, I was worried about it making my skin super oily but it actually leaves my skin looking quite soft, and supple. I have only been using it for a few days, so I will most likely do a proper review, and if I think it's worth the money. As for the texture and smell, it is a very concentrated product and feels very watery when pumped and worked into the skin, and it smells ABSOLUTELY divine - like their foundations, it smells fresh and this serum smells like watermelon.
theBalm Cosmetics
I have seen this brand floating around for a long time, especially their infamous Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and Bahama Mama bronzer, and had intentions of purchasing from Superdrug online (until recently, it wasn't available in UK stores) but wasn't sure about the price of them. I walked past my local super drug and had no intentions of going in until I saw this huge theBalm cosmetics stand front and centre in store. I immediately went in and started watching every single product. Of course, the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and Bahama Mama bronzer was sold out. I picked up the overshadow pigment in 'Work is Overrated', and Cindy-Lou Manizer, and then the next day I went back and purchased Betty-Lou Manizer, and two more overshadow pigments in 'No Money, No Honey', and 'If You're Rich, I'm Single'. BUT I only realised they had a 3 for 2 offer on all cosmetics in Superdrug which I didn't realise until my 2nd purchase, and was annoyed with Superdrug for not informing me of the offer when I bought the first two products the day before (I know Boots are excellent for reminding you about the 3 for 2 offer), so I could have had another product for FREE. I WILL be picking up more, the Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and Bahama Mama bronzer (when it eventually comes back in stock!), and the last overshadow pigment, the sexy mama translucent powder and a couple of their eyeliners. Once I get what I want, I will most likely do a separate haul/review on the products and brand.
The rest of the products I purchased were a mix of back-ups (Maybelling Rewind concealer and L'Oreal Super Liner pen), Maybelline matte colour tattoo cream shadow (creme d'rose), which is similar to MAC Painterly paint pot, MAC Persistence lipstick (after seeing the beautiful Holly Annaeree use it on her Instagram) and MAC gel liner brush, The Body Shop hemp lip conditioner which I first saw StyleSuzi use, and so far I'm loving it - smells great and really softens the lips.
Basically, I went to go get christmas presents and end up with this...as usual.
