NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation - Punjab | Review

I'm starting to go through my many foundations one by one and I purchased this NARS foundation back in June. I had a couple of weddings to go to this Summer and I wanted a foundation with no SPF so it didn't cause any flashback during photography. After doing some research, I decided to go with NARS since a lot of their foundations don't have SPF. Introducing NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. 

The NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is quite a watery based foundation that definitely needs shaking beforehand, but it is ideal mixed with other products like shimmers or oils. It has a medium coverage, and adheres nicely to the skin by brush or sponge (the only two tools I've used so far). Typically I paint liquid foundation on my face and then blend with my sponge. Using the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in conjunction with the powder version of this leaves a matte and even coverage that lasts all day - I wore this from 10am - 12pm all day, and it didn't cake or slide on my face at all. Albeit I was wearing primer too (Estee Lauder Pore Minimiser - amazing stuff), but the end result was impressive.  

What's nice about this foundation (and Nars in general) is that there is a fantastic colour range, so you will definitely be able to get a close/exact colour match. This foundation also comes with a pump which the NARS Sheer/Glow versions don't, so that's a great bonus to the foundation. The packaging and overall feel of the foundation bottle is quite luxe with the frosty glass so it feels nice in your hand, and looks good in your makeup collection. 

For special events / occasions, I love a long-wearing, matte liquid foundation that doesn't look very cakey and overdone. I used to wear Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation on special occasions, and although I still really love this foundation - compared to NARS All Day Luminous Weightless foundation, it is fairly thick and I can sometimes feel it on my face. I knew the wedding was going to be a long day, so I wanted a foundation base that was guaranteed to stay put and feel comfortable. 

Although the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation would be a nice everyday foundation (if you use a small amount), I feel that the price and benefits from it is more suited for going out and occasional events. So for now, I am keeping this as my special occasion foundation. That be said, I'm looking forward to using this again for my next big event...
