Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks: Pure Hollywood, Sepia and Dusty Rose | Mini Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand I'm quite fond of, although I don't own a lot of her products. I own her original contour powder palette, which I'm a huge fan of and I reviewed the contour palette here. I have always wanted to try out the liquid lipsticks and they weren't readily available in the UK (I believe they are now since Anastasia Beverly Hills launched a UK website but are out of stock), but since my trip to the New York - I managed to get my hands on a couple of shades.

When it comes to lip colours, I am a fiend for re-purchasing different shades of nude (who isn't...) and I must own nearly 50 different shades of nude so I decided to purchase some (slightly) different shades. The three shades I purchased were: Pure Hollywood, Sepia and Dusty Rose.

Pure Hollywood
This was a shade that I knew I wanted before I went to New York because I had seen swatches and loads of influencers wear it, and it just looked like a beautiful shade that suited a lot of skin tones. I would describe it as a cool, clean mid-pink colour.

Sepia
This shade is a cool, light grey-brown colour that suits a makeup look with light smokey eyeshadow colours, bold liner and long wispy false eyelashes.

Dusty Rose
This shade is a lovely mid-pink rose that would compliment all skin tones whether your makeup look is an everyday look or a nighttime evening look.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Formula
Having already tried a lot of different liquid lipstick formulas and brands before, I had really high expectations for these Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks considering they were $20 each. These are some of the more expensive liquid lipsticks I've purchased and in my makeup collection, so I expected them to be of really good quality.

Pure Hollywood is the shade I've mostly worn everyday for work and the liquid lipsticks are very pigmented and rich of colour. However I found that the formula was quite drying after a few hours and clung to my lip lines/dry areas even if I was wearing a good lip balm. The colour transfer was another issue because every time I patted my lips lightly with a tissue, the product transferred with dry flakes onto the tissue. This doesn't typically happen with other liquid lipsticks in my experience.

Whilst I do like the colours and pigmentations of these liquid lipsticks, I have to say the formulas are not as great as other brands I've tried. The product itself is quite a thick mousse consistency, and the doe-foot applicator is a good size to apply and fill in the whole of your lips. The overall packaging and feel of the liquid lipsticks are fairly luxe and look nice in my makeup collection.

I'm not sure if I would repurchase these liquid lipsticks again, but for now, I'm enjoying these colours and I will continue using them to create some lovely makeup looks.

Let me know if you're a fan of the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks, or which shades I should consider trying.
