Besides their adorable packaging, the quality of the products reflect the price in my opinion. They aren't the cheapest drugstore brand but they certainly aren't the most expensive. I feel with what I have paid, is certainly the quality I would expect and the pigmentation and texture of all the products I own have been very, very good. The colour payoff for all of these have so far been true to pan and even better on the skin. My personal faves being Mary Lou Manizer (now I know why people rave about this so much), and one of the overshadows called "if you're rich, I'm single", which is a beautiful pearlescent ice-y pink shimmer.
Mary-Lou Manizer | a light golden shimmer | Cindy-Lou Manizer | a pink-y toned shimmer for cheek contour | Betty-Lou Manizer | a dirty brown with fine gold shimmer.
I enjoy using all three of these colours together as much as I do on their own. They all compliment each other well and I don't feel that the shimmer in all 3 products is too much when I'm wearing them altogether. All three are buildable product, so you can layer colour on lightly or heavily quite depending on your preference.
Bahama Mama | a cool toney grey bronzer | The Sexpots Overshadow's | fine shimmery pigments to be used on top of other shadows or used alone.
I am always on a good hunt to find a good contour product - both cream and powder - and Bahama Mama is very similar in colour to my current favourite contour product - Kevyn Aucoin Medium Sculpt (which is currently smashed into pieces...*sob*) - but for the price of it, it is not realistic for me to purchase all the time. Bahama Mama does the job, but I feel that it is a lot less pigmented to what I want, and it takes me a lot longer to really build the product up compared to my beloved Kevyn Aucoin. I will most likely repurchase the Kevyn Aucoin but for now, this works okay for everyday use. The overshadows are the prettiest pigments I have in my collection, and much, much finer than MAC's pigments. So far, I have only worn them on their own and I love them this way, but I imagine they would look just as good on top of other eyeshadows.
Shwing Liquid Eyeliner | a matte black liquid liner with fine pen shaped tip.
I'm not the biggest fan of liquid eyeliners because I find them a bit flimsy to apply on my small eyelids and they often don't try quick enough. I like how pigmented and black the consistency of this eyeliner is and I would only really use this if I have enough time to polish off my overall makeup look. I much prefer eyeliner pens or gels for my eyeliner.
Swatches from left to right from top to bottom: Bety-Lou Manizer, Cindy Lou Manizer, Mary-Lou Manizer, Bahama Mama, "no money, no honey", "if you're rich, I'm single", & "work is overrated"
Besides being one of the cutest packaging in my makeup collection, I have to say, theBalm definitely are one of the best products I have used to date. The colours are very rich and pigmented, which is definitely a plus with any brand. I would say the range is not huge, but there are definitely products that are suitable for everyone.
Have you tried any of theBalm products?
