Now NYX is a brand that a lot of people will have heard of, but not necessarily the easiest to get a hold of. Until recently, Boots started selling them on their website but I haven't seen them in store yet. Perhaps they are more available in the bigger stores like London, but certainly not where I live. However, thanks to the handy click and collect option online (my favourite delivery service), I can deliver what ever is available on their site (that's not available in store) straight to my local boots.
I hate working in the city because the traffic is insane but at the same time, I am a 5 minute walk from all the high street stores so in hindsight, it isn't too bad most of the time. I know there are many people out there that are big fans of NYX products because of the quality and price of them, and I am one of them. What's great about this brand is that they seem to have good dupes for limited edition or highly-desired products from other brands, at a really good price.
I only have a couple of products from their range, but I certainly haven't been disappointed by any of them. My personal favourites are the liquid suede cream lipsticks and the Angel veil.
I am going through a little obsession with matte lipsticks and have my eye on trying a few other brands including Gerrard Cosmetics and Dose of Colors, but the NYX liquid suede cream lipsticks are niiiiiiice. The finish is not quite 100% matte in my opinion, but more of a semi-matte, and the formula is incredibly pigmented and smooth to apply. The doe foot applicator is a little longer than you'd expect from a product like this but I actually think it helps a lot with the application since it is slightly angled and it really starts angling into the grooves and contours of your lips. The two colours I purchased are very similar - Sandstorm and Soft Spoken - but I would definitely like to try a few other colours since they're at a reasonable prize of £6.50.
The Angel Veil is supposedly Angel Merino's (MAC_DADDY on Instagram), holy grail primer and I was curious to try it since the packaging was also cute. I have tried quite a few primers and quite frankly, I really don't need anymore than I have. This primer is very silky and has that silicone feel, and it reminds me a lot like Benefit's POREfessional, which I also love. Angel Veil is white and very smooth in texture, and spreads evenly and easily across the face. So far, I am enjoying it with NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint and L'Oreal True Match Foundation.
I would love to try a few more products from the NYX range including the soft matte lip creams, the lip lingerie lipsticks, and illuminators so once they're available online, I'll probably put an order through.
Have you tried any of the NYX products? What are your favourites?
